Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago de Cuba, Santiago de Cuba

Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago de Cuba

It is one of the best places of interest in Santiago de Cuba and one of the first buildings built in the town, as regulated by the urban laws of Castile, characterized by a strong medieval influence.

Its current forms respond to the reforms made by the renowned architect Carlos Segrera in 1922, which increased the height of the towers, and the old pediment of the main entrance was topped with a great archangel.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba is the seat of the Fourth Bishopric of America.
