Carmen Church
Carmen church was originally a modest wooden chapel with a thatched roof, building very typical of the time in the fledgling town, which still lacked a major urban development. The chapel was built at the site where the town was founded on July 15, 1689, on a lot located just past the glen of the almiquí on the hill, near the banks of the river La Sabana, where they had met the migrant families of the town of San Juan de los Remedios to found the new town which would be called Glorious Santa Clara.
