Raise in travel to Cuba.

The travel of tourists to Cuba grew in more than 1 percent in the first semester of 2010 although it suffered a slight descent in june, according to figures published in Havana by the National Office of Statistical.

Between the months of January and June they traveled to Cuba near of 1.390.000 tourists, near 13.500 more than in the same period of the year 2009. Nevertheless, the number of tourists in June fell 0.6 percent in comparison with the same month of 2009.

The tourism is one of the main sources of income of Cuba. In spite of the world economic crisis Cuba registered in 2009 a record in the arrival of tourists of 2.4 million people, 3.5 percent more than the year 2008. At the moment the island is the ninth bigger tourist destination of the whole American continent.
