Increases number of visitors that Travel to Cuba

The number of tourists that arrived in the first semester of this year increased lightly with regard to the same period of 2009, affirmed in Havana, María Elena López.

During the inauguration of the International Convention of Tourist Studies, López pointed out that one hopes to culminate the year with figures superiors to those of the precedent, in spite of the goods of the global financial crisis.

It highlighted that to increase the number of visitors they were implemented from last Saturday direct flights to Cuba from Argentina and Brazil, while one hopes to carry out a similar operation to attract the Japanese tourism.

According to issued informations recently for the National Office of Statistical, the figure of tourists toward Cuba has been increased, in spite of the crisis, due to appropriate promotional offers and to the investment in new markets.
