Centro Habana

The locality of Centro Habana is located in north-central province of Havana City and west of the bay. It is integral to the traditional center of the city, along with the town Habana Vieja.

The settlements of "Centro Habana" are from the early colonial years, were closely linked to the founding of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana (1514-1519), whose position as a key Gulf of Mexico arouses the greed of European world, expressed in the attacks of corsairs and pirates, as performed by 10 July 1555, Jacques de Sores. Subsequently belt fortress was built (1667-1680) divided the city into two well defined zones: inside and outside.
